Robin--Great presentation..very distinct photos that are appropriate for text. I agree with Gladwell on a few key points that you mentioned; information users must be attentive; an intuitive response is sometimes more valuable IF the person has a few pieces of critical and relevant information. For me, too much information often leaves me more confused and anxious!
Coincidentally, on a recent tour of Bryant University I noticed the odd looking chairs at their computer stations..yes, the Aeron chairs. I felt they were complementary to the library's design scheme, were very comfortable to sit in, and probably hold up better that chairs that are more fabric intensive!
